Method

With our 3D laser scanner it is possible to make very precise measurements in a short period of time. The scanner makes a point cloud from its surroundings. By interconnecting several scans a (partial) installation can be digitized.

After pairing of multiple point clouds it is possible with sophisticated software to transform the information into CAD models, such as solids and surfaces. These new models are used for designing new installation parts.

Besides the design of new plant parts in the point cloud the technique may also be used for visualization, clash detection, un-roundness measurements, deflection of beams or piping, as built, etc.

Because of the accuracy the risk of clashes is reduced markedly and even the number of pipe fitting welds may be reduced. With which the overall installation times are reduced.
